All of my life I have been surrounded by and have created Art. Music, Literature and all manner of Visual Arts have filled my home and my heart. History and science has been interwoven into the tapestry of my life’s experience as well. All of these influences have manifested themselves as subjects in my art. Over the years, my artistic curiosity has allowed me the benefit of developing a reasonable facility with a number of types of media: Drawing, Photography, Design and Painting are at the core of these abilities.

Culture and history permeate my artwork. These themes manifest themselves most frequently through Hip-Hop culture, Pan-African history, Pittsburgh’s local and regional history, and an array of cultural icons from diverse eras, locales and endeavors.

My primary aesthetic goal is to navigate a balance between the carefully rendered and the intuitively expressed image.

My intent is to inspire people by introducing history and culture in a very personal yet subtle way. I want my artwork to remind the viewer that we are living in history and culture and that they reside in us as well. We can actively affect the present and future through awareness of the past.
